Assignment Objective
To develop the appreciation that we are currently living in the information-knowledge era, where
producing and sustaining knowledge is now fast becoming the business strategy for organizations. Also to
appreciate the significance of intellectual capital is rising and knowledge workers are becoming the key
drivers in organization. Moreover, to realize the potential of knowledge retention and creation and the
need to strive to become a valuable asset and contribute effectively towards the growth and development
of their workplace.
Assignment Tasks
Task 1: Submit a work proposal for this assignment or before 02/05/2020 (23:59) which must include:



Understanding of deliverables – a detail description of deliverables
Timeline for completion of the given tasks.
Identification of resources to be used
The work proposal must be submitted in a word file through the link available in Moodle.(10 Marks)

Task 2: You are planning to start a small business (business of your choice) and you would like to
make knowledge management a key part of your practice. Critically discuss the strategies you
will use to manage your business knowledge. Your critical discussion should include the following.
a) The kind of data, information, and knowledge you will focus on capturing. (10 marks)
b) Based on the nature of your business, the kind of knowledge capturing techniques you will
have in place and the possible methods that you will use to elicit knowledge from the
knowledge worker. (20 marks)
c) The kind of tools, technologies and methods you will use to store the captured knowledge.
Points discussed in part a) and b) should be taken into consideration. (10 marks)
d) How will you apply/use the captured knowledge? Outcome measurement and solution
adoption should be taken into consideration. (10 marks)
e) How will you share/disseminate valuable knowledge? Knowledge accessibility and diffusion
should be taken into consideration. (15 marks)
f) Your plan for ensuring knowledge creation. Incentives and mechanisms can be considered.
(15 marks)
Task 3: Prepare a well-structured, formatted and presented report of your critical discussions of
the above as per the rules & regulations and the guidelines provided below. (10 marks)
Rules & Regulations:
 All resources should be cited using CU Harvard style.
 The final assignment must have a Title page, Table of Contents, References/ bibliography using CU
Harvard Style and page numbers.

Title Page must have Assignment Name, Module name, Session, your name, ID, and the name of the
faculty.
 Softcopy in word format is to be submitted through Turnitin link on Moodle.
Viva may be conducted after the assignment submission as per the dates informed earlier.

If the student fails a module and has a proven case of academic integrity violation in this module, the
student is required to re-register the module. This is applicable to first and second offenders of
plagiarism.

A. First offence of plagiarism
I. If a student is caught first time in an act of plagiarism during his/her course of study in
any assignment other than project work, the student will be allowed to re-submit the
assignment once, within a maximum period of one week. However, a penalty of
deduction of 25% of the marks obtained for the resubmitted work will be imposed.
